Every appointment at Mahogany and Rose is exclusively for individuals who wear their hair curly or in locs. The chair time is unhurried, the technique is taught as it happens, and you leave with a plan you can keep up at home.
We don't stretch into services outside textured hair. Keeping the menu small is how we keep the work mindful.
01 — Curls
For the pattern you were born with.
Curly hair care
By consultation
Cuts, washes, and conditioning treatments tailored to your specific curl pattern, porosity, and density. Camille works dry and wet, talking you through each decision as it happens — why a particular section gets the cut it does, what product is being used and why, and how to replicate the wash-and-style at home.
Curly cut — shape, length, and definition for your pattern.
Wash & style — cleansing, conditioning, and finish.
Deep conditioning treatment — moisture, slip, and elasticity reset.
New-client consultation — required for first-time bookings.
Starter, refresh, and creative styling for new and established locs. We treat locs as a journey, not a single look — what works on a six-month set isn't what works at year five, and the approach we take is shaped by where your hair actually is, not a template.
Starter locs — the foundation set, with a plan for the first year.
Style refresh — updos, pin styling, and creative finishes.
Loc consultation — guidance before you commit to a path.
Event styling — appointments timed around a milestone.
Retwists, detoxes, and the small ongoing decisions that keep your locs strong, clean, and shaped. We work at a pace that respects your hair — no rushing, no aggressive product, no shortcuts that catch up to you a year later.
Retwist — clean, intentional new growth at the root.
Loc detox — a deep clean that resets the scalp and shaft.
Interlocking — for those who prefer a no-product method.
Scalp & root care — guidance on the in-between weeks.
Camille is an independent educator to stylists, teaching classes on how to care for curly hair and locs with intention and mindfulness. Sessions are hands-on and built for licensed professionals who want to expand their textured-hair offering with technique rooted in the actual hair, not a one-size method.
1:1 mentorship — focused sessions on your specific gaps.
Small-group workshops — technique taught with live demos.
Curly cut fundamentals — how to read a head of curls.
Loc foundations — starting, maintaining, and advising clients.
We're a small studio with no receptionist, so every booking is intentional. Whether you're here for curls, locs, or a class, the rhythm of the visit is roughly the same.
01
Consultation
We talk through your hair goals, your routine at home, and what's worked or hasn't. First-time curl clients always start here so we can plan the appointment correctly.
02
Service & education
Every step — wash, cut, twist, style, treatment — is talked through as it happens. The goal is that you could pick up the technique and use it on yourself.
03
Take-home plan
You leave with a clear care plan, product guidance for your hair specifically, and a rebooking cadence that actually fits your life.
Pricing & booking
Quoted at consultation, never one-size.
Textured hair varies too much for a flat price grid to be honest. Length, density, condition, and the work involved all change what the appointment actually takes — so we quote during your consultation, not before.
New curl clients always begin with a consultation appointment so we can plan a service window that won't leave us rushed.
Appointments are scheduled tightly. Arriving late may mean a shortened service or a reschedule.
Plan the cadence
Loc maintenance reads best on a regular rhythm. We'll suggest one during your visit, then leave it up to you.
Bring no guests
The studio is small and the experience is meant to be quiet. We ask that you come alone when possible.

Common questions
Before you book.
Do I need a consultation before my first appointment?
Yes for new curl clients. It lets us plan the service window, talk through your goals, and make sure we book enough time. Loc clients can often go straight into a service once we've understood their stage by email.
Why is there no phone number?
We are a small salon with no receptionist. Email is the best way to get in touch — for general inquiries, write to info@mahoganyandrose.com. For questions about an appointment you've already scheduled, please contact your stylist directly.
Do you offer services for straight or wavy hair?
No. Mahogany and Rose is exclusively for individuals who wear their hair curly or in locs. Keeping that focus is how we stay good at what we do.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
The studio is intentionally small and quiet. We ask that you come alone when possible so the chair time stays focused. If you have a specific reason you need to bring someone, email us beforehand and we'll figure it out.
How do I book a class with Camille?
Stylist classes are scheduled by appointment. Reach out at camillejanae@mahoganyandrose.com with a short note about your experience level and what you'd like to learn, and Camille will get back to you with options.
Where exactly are you located?
Inside Style Studios at 1337 Howe Ave, Suite 105, Sacramento, CA 95825. There's parking on site. When you arrive, head into Style Studios and find Suite 105.
